What Makes this event different?
For the first time, our Top 50 finalists will have their winning portraits displayed at top international photography festivals including PHOTOLUX, Mt.ROKKO INTERNATIONAL PHOTO FESTIVAL, AUCKLAND FESTIVAL OF PHOTOGRAPHY, SUWON Photo Festival in Korea, and YAKUSHIMA PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL in Japan in 2019 and 2020.

To all our followers and portrait photographers,
KLPA2019, our 11th instalment is now officially launched and calling for entries. You will be able to submit your portrait images on 1 February. This year, our Theme Category especially focuses on stand-alone portraits taken by photojournalists and documentary photographers with the theme UNYIELDING GAZE.
There is also an Open Category for all photographers willing to be fresh and creative in their approach to portraiture, once again, stand-alone images.
Prize money of $3,000 plus a brand new trophy specially created by Japanese artist Yukako Shibata will be awarded to the 1st Prize photographers in both categories.
