Since 2008 Localize has been opening urban spaces for con-temporary art in Potsdam with an annually changing thematic focus. Localize is an urban laboratory, platform for collaborative experiments and a creative innovator in the city. Localize e. V. is a non-profit association. The festival is developed by a team of students, cultural practitioners and creatives.

From October 5 – 8, 2023, the Festival for City, Culture and Art moves to Potsdam's City Hall and creates a temporary experimental laboratory for exploring the city and its administration: Localize offers space for artistic works that question how a city is made and managed, addressing fundamental questions around urban society, developing visions, and playing with utopias of communal life.
From the parking garage to the plenary hall, in meeting rooms and the library to the adjacent former coachman's house, the festival opens up spaces for artistic interactions with the structures, constraints, challenges and scope of an administrative apparatus.
All artists, cultural practitioners, visionaries and citizens are invited to apply with ideas and concepts by May 31st using this online form.
Apply with installations, performances, video and photography, workshops, guided tours, dance, talks, and everything in-between: Every format and genre is encouraged, that explores the limits and possibilities of the topic through experimental, locally specific approaches.
