CURRENTS 2027 will mark our 18th year as an annual festival and 25th year since our first exhibition in 2002.

CURRENTS 2027 Art & Technology Festival

CURRENTS is accepting submissions for its 2027 Art & Technology Festival, taking place June 11–20, 2027, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Since 2010, CURRENTS has presented an annual festival showcasing contemporary art at the intersection of art and technology. The festival brings together established and emerging new media artists from across the United States and around the world.

Submission Deadline: December 8, 2026
Festival Dates: June 11–20, 2027
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA
Submission Fee: $30 for a single submission; $25 per submission for multiple submissions

Submission Categories

CURRENTS 2027 welcomes submissions in the following categories:

• Interactive and non-interactive installations

• Audio experiences

• Virtual, augmented, and mixed reality environments

• Robotics, kinetic, and electro-mechanical objects and installations

• Multimedia performance

• Fabrication, 2D and 3D printing, and wearables

• Experimental single-channel video, documentary, and animation

Support for Selected Artists

Selected artists may be eligible for assistance with travel, lodging, and shipping.

Due to the high and increasing costs and risks associated with international shipping, CURRENTS may not be able to provide shipping support for international artists. The festival may be able to supply equipment needed for selected projects.

About CURRENTS New Media

CURRENTS New Media is an annual art and technology festival based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, supporting 21st-century art-making and innovative creative practices.

The festival is organized through a collaboration between the nonprofit organization Parallel Studios, community partners throughout Santa Fe, interns, and volunteers.
