By submitting your work, you authorise the video art festival "Based in Calabria" and its team to use stills and clips from your video art work for promotional and communication purposes on social networks and any printed or online material. You confirm that you have created the submitted work, and you are responsible for any expenses and obligations related to your own work and copyright/intellectual property rights if you use third-party content.

The video art festival "Based in Calabria" is looking for artists from any country of origin currently living and working in Calabria, Italy. It is a non-competitive communicative project aimed at finding a common ground and building connections. The project is part of The Wrong Biennale, and selected works will be exhibited online, on The Wrong Television from November 1, 2023 to March 1, 2024.
There is no specific theme. We are not urging you to submit works related to Calabria's rich history or numerous issues this region faces, although we are open to any kind of video art works. We simply invite you to share your video art.

Terms & Conditions

Open to all artists (locals or foreigners) currently residing in Calabria.
You may submit up to 3 works for consideration.
Please choose for submission videos that are no longer than 20 min (if your video is longer but you still want to submit it, please mail us).
If your video has dialogues or texts in a language other than Italian or English, please provide Italian or English subtitles.
There is NO submission fee.
The selected videos must be accessible on Vimeo or Youtube (public or unlisted)) for the entire duration of The Wrong Biennale (November 1st, 2023 - March 1st, 2024).
We don't accept documentary and fiction. Only video art and experimental.
As a non-commercial artist-run project, we are not able to offer any financial support.

Il festival di videoarte "Based in Calabria" invita artisti di qualsiasi paese di origine che attualmente vivono e lavorano in Calabria, Italia. "Based in Calabria" è un festival comunicativo non competitivo volto a trovare un terreno comune e creare connessioni. Il festival fa parte di The Wrong Biennale e le opere selezionate saranno esposte online, su The Wrong Television dal 1 novembre 2023 al 1 marzo 2024.
Non c'è un tema specifico. Non sei obbligato a presentare opere legate alla ricca storia delle Calabria o ai numerosi problemi ad essa connessi; siamo aperti a qualsiasi tipo di opera di videoarte. Ti invitiamo semplicemente a condividere la tua opera di vidioarte.

Modalità di partecipazione

La partecipazione è aperta a tutti gli artisti (locali o stranieri) attualmente residenti in Calabria.
Puoi inviare fino a 3 opere per valutazione.
Il video non deve superare i venti minuti, in caso contrario avvisaci prima dell’invio.
Se il video contiene dialoghi o testi in una lingua diversa dall'italiano o dall'inglese, sei invitato a corredarli di sottotitoli in italiano o in inglese.
NON è previsto alcun pagamento per l’iscrizione o la partecipazione.
I video selezionati devono essere accessibili su Vimeo o YouTube (pubblici o non elencati) e disponibili per tutta la durata di The Wrong Biennale (1 novembre 2023 - 1 marzo 2024).
Non accettiamo documentario e fiction. Solo videoarte e sperimentale.
Essendo un progetto artistico non commerciale e gestito dagli artisti, non siamo in grado di offrire alcun supporto finanziario.
