Exhibition and Selection
Submission deadline: November 13, 2026
Exhibition dates: December 1–25, 2026
The juror will select 26 photographs for exhibition at the gallery and an additional 50 photographs for the online gallery annex. All 76 selected photographs will be included in a catalog available for purchase through Blurb Books.
Printing, Matting, and Framing
Black Box Gallery provides free printing, matting, and framing for all exhibitions. Photographers whose work is selected must supply a high-resolution TIFF or JPEG file for printing.
The gallery uses 18 × 24-inch black frames and white mats cut for 12 × 18-inch, 12 × 12-inch, and 12 × 16-inch prints, with additional mat sizes available. Prints are produced on an Epson Stylus Pro archival inkjet printer using Epson Premium Luster Photo paper in a color-calibrated environment. The gallery has more than 25 years of custom printing experience.
Following the exhibition, prints will be stored in the gallery’s flat file for future sales and promotional opportunities, allowing Black Box Gallery to continue promoting photographers and their work to collectors, curators, critics, and the public. Gallery prints will be shredded after two years in the flat file.
Accepted Work: File and Print Agreement
Black Box Gallery will produce only one exhibition print from each accepted file. If a sale inquiry is received, the photographer will be notified before a sale is confirmed. Edition information will be discussed with the photographer, and an authentication document will be provided for the photographer to sign and accompany the print to the collector.
No sale or additional printing from the file will take place without the photographer’s prior consent and agreement. All rights to the file and print remain with the photographer, and the work may be used only with the photographer’s prior consent. The exhibition print itself will not be sold; it will be retained in Black Box Gallery’s flat file solely to promote the photographer’s work.
Sales and Commission
Black Box Gallery takes a 50% commission on all sales, with the remaining 50% going to the photographer. Artists may choose not to offer their work for sale; in that case, the print will be used for exhibition and promotional purposes only.
