We are San Miguel's only full live/work residency program. Our beautiful facilities were built with artists' needs in mind. We're child and pet friendly.

Call for Entries - Artist Residency in Mexico

The invitation for the Open Residency 2024 Summer Session is open to artists in plastic arts, visual arts, literature, digital arts, cinematography, and accommodations can be arranged for performing arts professionals.

Residencies require a minimum stay of two weeks, commencing on any Sunday between May 12 and July 14. The application deadline for the Summer Session is March 31, 2024.

Situated in the historic town of Atotonilco, just 15 minutes from the center of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, in central Mexico, the residence offers each resident:

  • Privacy and tranquility in a natural environment, surrounded by mesquite trees
  • A 40m2 well-lit studio for private use
  • Private bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette
  • Shared dining room, reading room and laundry
  • Daily breakfast and basic food provisions
  • Access to woodworking shop and print shop
  • Use of shared vehicle (gasoline not included)
  • Policy for children and/or accompanying pets
  • Introductions with local arts leaders and, if required, curatorial support
