The 13th edition of the PORTRAIT International Juried Art Competition by TERAVARNA is dedicated to the timeless popularity of portraiture and various definitions of who human beings are and how they feel. TERAVARNA, in the course of its journey, has given out more than $186,425 in cash prizes, each indicating specific categories like abstract, figurative, floral, landscape, portrait, and experimental art. The platform connects artists with curators, allowing them to reach out to other artists beyond their circles of friends and gain a sustainable presence in the global art marketplace.

Call for Entries: 13th Portrait International Juried Art Competition

TERAVARNA invites artists worldwide to submit work for its 13th Portrait International Juried Art Competition, celebrating the enduring art of portraiture across a wide range of styles and media.

Artists are encouraged to explore the human face, identity, character, and emotion through portrait art. Whether realistic, contemporary, stylized, or experimental, portraiture offers a unique opportunity to capture both physical likeness and personal expression.

The competition welcomes 2D and 3D portrait artwork in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, mixed media, fiber art, printmaking, graphic design, and installation. Artists may submit traditional portraits or contemporary interpretations that challenge and expand the boundaries of the genre.

The submission process is entirely online and open to artists from around the world. Entries should be submitted as high-quality digital images through TERAVARNA's online application system.

Artists may submit up to 10 artworks, with an entry fee of $20 per artwork.

Awards & Recognition

The competition offers cash prizes of up to $5,000 along with promotional opportunities for selected artists.

Winning, runner-up, and merit award recipients will receive:

• Exposure through TERAVARNA's marketing and social media channels
• Representation on Artsy
• Inclusion in TERAVARNA's virtual exhibition
