The Greatest Photos of the World 2027 invites photographers from around the globe to share how they see the world through their lens. Open to both emerging and established photographers, the competition celebrates powerful images, original perspectives and visual stories that connect people across borders.
The 2027 theme, Living Together – How We Share Our Planet, explores how people, animals and nature coexist within the same spaces, landscapes and ecosystems. Our shared environment is constantly changing: cities expand, natural habitats come under pressure, and tourism, agriculture, housing, industry and recreation increasingly compete for space. At the same time, our lives remain deeply connected to the landscapes, communities and natural systems around us.
We invite photographers to interpret Living Together in the broadest possible way. Your work may reveal harmony or tension, beauty or fragility, cooperation or conflict. It may show people adapting to changing environments, wildlife living alongside human activity, communities sharing public space, or the impact of tourism and development on landscapes. But the theme is not limited to social or environmental issues. A striking portrait, an extraordinary wildlife encounter, a breathtaking landscape, a decisive sporting moment or a poetic street scene can equally express what it means to share our world.
Photographers can enter across eight categories: Journeys & Adventures, Faces & Souls, Nature’s Beauty, Wildlife in Harmony, Underwater Wonders, Motion & Emotion, Stories That Matter, and Streets of the World. Entries can range from compelling single images to visual storytelling and documentary series.
Selected photographers have the opportunity to present their work to an international audience as part of a major photography festival in the Netherlands. The competition offers cash prizes and special category awards, professional review by an international panel of photography experts, media exposure through international partners, publication in the official festival programme, and the possibility of exhibiting in other European cities.
Entries are evaluated in multiple rounds by an international selection committee. The jury considers creativity, photographic quality and the strength with which the work communicates its subject and the competition theme.
Whether your photography is documentary, poetic, humorous, spectacular, intimate or socially engaged, we want to see the world from your perspective. Show us the places, people, animals and moments that matter to you.
Your vision. Your world. Your shot.
Join The Greatest Photos of the World 2027 and let your photography become part of a global celebration of art, nature and humanity.
