This is an open call to watercolor, oil, ink, gouache, acrylic, encaustic and mixed media artists who reside or work in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, West Virginia, Delaware and Pennsylvania.
The juror is Phil Hutinet, the publisher and editor-in-chief of East City Art, DC’s Visual Arts publication. His consultancy work east of the river yielded the Anacostia Playhouse. Craig Kraft Studios, the Anacostia Arts Center and LUMEN8ANACOSTIA festivals. He has acted as the Gateway Open Studio Tour coordinator. He produced EMULSION, East City Art’s regional juried show and has curated over 150 local exhibitors in his career as a gallery owner and director of several local galleries. Currently he oversees the ECA’s Critical Arts Writing Program which produces an annual anthology titled CONFLUENCE:Two Rivers One City.

ELIGIBILITY
● Open to artists residing or working in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, West Virginia, Delaware or Pennsylvania
● Open only to 2D artists working in watercolor, oil, ink, gouache, acrylic, encaustic and mixed media
● Original work, completed in the past 2 years
● Applicants must be 18 years or older
ENTRY FEES
$40 for up to 3 pieces, $5 each for up to 2 additional entries
$35 for up to 3 pieces for TFAA members, $5 each for up to 2 additional entries
RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● All accepted artworks must be available for the exhibition by July 21 through August 22
● All artwork must be available for purchase
● Gallery will collect 40% commission on sales, 25% for TFAA members
● TFAA shall have the right to use images of exhibited artwork for all promotional purposes
● Artwork drop-off and pick-up must be in-person only at Torpedo Factory Artists @ Mosaic gallery, no shipping available
● All pieces must be wired and ready to hang. Works that are not appropriately wired will not be displayed
● Artwork must be picked-up by 3pm August 23
● Unclaimed artwork becomes property of the TFAA after August 31
ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS
● Minimum: No restrictions
● Maximum: No larger than 60” in any direction
● All pieces must be wired appropriately for hanging
● TFAA reserves the right to reject artwork at any time for any reason
