SUMMER IN VOLCANO COUNTRY ON MAUI in HAWAI’I
NPAF offers a summer Haleakalā National Park residency. You can spend July 2022 in a spacious house just outside this national park. The park consists of a massive dormant volcanic crater on sacred land, has the largest collection of endangered and beautiful species of any park in the park system, features amazing lunar landscapes and trails, groves of exotic trees and bamboo, and rainforests that run down to Maui’s iconic coastlines. Georgia O’Keeffe painted here along the coast and the v-shaped valleys too. NPAF’s past artists in residence include Astrophotographer Stan Honda, Landscape Pianist Hunter Noack, and a few others. This is a chance in a lifetime for Artists! Please Note: this is not an National Park Service (NPS) affiliated residency this year.
