What Makes this event different?
Stay at the guesthouse of a National Historic Landmark and enjoy the pristine beauty and quiet of the surrounding countryside (parts of CA State Parks).
The application period for the artist in residence program at Pond Farm Pottery starts on January 1 and ends on February 1. All disciplines and art forms are welcome with the exception of welding or kiln firing.
We encourage artists from historically underserved communities to apply and offer a scholarship and a small stipend for the three weeks long stay.
All the details and a history of Pond Farm Pottery, former home and studio of Bauhaus-trained master potter Marguerite Wildenhain, and now a National Historic Landmark, can be found on pondfarm.org. The AiR page on that website contains all the information and a link to the application.
Residencies are restricted to one person at a time. Applicants must be comfortable residing in a rural setting with no immediate neighbors. No pets allowed, except service animals. The guesthouse is equipped with the amenities of modern living, including internet.
