What Makes this event different?
This one-of-a-kind initiative provides free studio space and accommodation in Dublin City, aiming to support artists in developing their careers while contributing to Ireland's leading ceramics community. Our goal is to attract both Irish and international ceramic graduates and residency applicants, encouraging community engagement and establishing Dublin as a hub for ceramics. Staycity's involvement is crucial in removing financial barriers for artists seeking to work and live in Dublin City.
Throwing Shapes, Dublin’s first community ceramics studio, is now accepting applications for the second round of the Clay City Professional Residencies, developed in partnership with Staycity Aparthotels.
Each three-month residency provides:
Free accommodation in central Dublin (Staycity own-door shared apartment)
Full access to Throwing Shapes’ professional ceramics facilities
Mentorship and community support within Ireland’s leading independent studio
The Clay City programme is designed for professional ceramic artists and educators seeking time, space, and an international creative exchange. It is open internationally to anyone who can legally work and live in Ireland.
