
Event History
Last year we saw 550 pieces of artwork submitted to the 69th Annual Juried Exhibition with just over 75 pieces selected for an incredible show. The Durham Art Guild’s mission is to enrich and connect communities by creating opportunities and providing leadership for current and future visual artists and art enthusiasts. The Guild is a nonprofit member-driven visual arts organization established in 1948. For over seven decades they have supported local artists and advocated for the arts in North Carolina.
What Makes this event different?
Any and all visual artists from anywhere are welcomed and encouraged to submit up to three piece of work to be juried. This year applications will be juried by international artist William Cordova! His work is included in the collections of the Ellipse Foundation, Cascais, Portugal; Harvard University, Cambridge, MA; La Casa de las Americas, Havana, Cuba; Minneapolis Institute of Art, MN; Museo de Arte de Lima, Peru; NSU Museum, Fort Lauderdale, FL; Pérez Art Museum, Miami, FL; The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, NY; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY; and Yale University, New Haven, CT, among others.
Image Usage Rights
Submitted works may be used for promotional materials and credit will be given to all artists.
Call For Entries for Artists
For the 70th year, the Durham Art Guild will present its annual Juried Exhibition, showcasing exceptional works from across the United States in Durham, NC. In the previous year's 69th Annual Juried Exhibition, over 550 artworks were submitted, with just over 75 pieces chosen for an extraordinary display.
This year's juror is international artist, William Cordova.
Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place, as well as prizes for People's Choice.
Any and all visual artists from anywhere are welcomed and encouraged to apply. The general application fee is $35 and three pieces can be sumbitted for adjudication. Applications close October 4, 2024.
