The Folio Society nurtures new talent and champions artists who work across a diverse range of media, from oil painting and wood engraving to collage and digital illustration.
For the Folio Book Illustration Award 2023, the judges will be looking for pieces that illustrate a scene from the story, The Fliers of Gy, rather than a sole portrait of a character. Entrants can read the short story via the link on the Folio website, www.foliosociety.com/uk/FolioBIA.
The competition is free to enter and is open to anyone over the age of 18 who has not previously been commissioned by The Folio Society. The winner will receive a prize of £2,000 cash plus £500 worth of Folio vouchers, and each of the runners-up will receive £500 worth of Folio vouchers. The winning artist and runners-up will also receive a portfolio review by the Folio art directors.
