Further to the Symphony Fufu contest and Fufu Sculpture competition, County Hall Arts (CHA) is delighted to present its latest concours - themed around ‘Family’ and ‘Fufu’ (or ‘夫婦’ - meaning 'husband and wife’ or 'married couple’ in Japanese), this time through the art form of Photography.
Love, Unity and Family - this call offers an opportunity to capture the varied and unique dynamics which form the foundation of family life, from intimate moments between partners to the warmth and togetherness of family bonds.
Photographers of all levels are invited to submit their work celebrating the beauty, love, and strength of ‘fufu' and families.
Whether entrants focus on love, connection, joy, or the simple beauty of everyday family moments, CHA is looking for photographs that tell a story and showcase the special relationships that tie us together.
We encourage photographers to seek out authentic and heartfelt moments, whether a quiet, intimate scene or a joyful, busy moment filled with laughter. Images that evoke emotion, the complexities of family life and depict love, togetherness, support, and shared experiences - from newlyweds preparing a meal together to long-term partners holding hands on a walk, from small families celebrating a birthday to multigenerational reunions.
Everyday life at the historic County Hall has been a kaleidoscope of ‘fufu’ and families for decades.
Artist Victoria Atkinson’s ‘Fufu’ themed sculpture will be installed at County Hall later in the year whilst the Symphony Fufu compositions will be performed in London, Madrid and Kyoto this Spring.
"The best thing to hold onto in life is each other." — Audrey Hepburn
The Competition is open to photographers of all nationalities and ages (with the exception of those resident in countries which are subject to UK trade restrictions). There is no entry fee.
