Call for Entries for Nude Photography

The body has been portrayed in art throughout history, from the classical era to the enlightenment and the modern era. The nude figure in western art–specifically in photography–has often expressed ideals of female and male beauty along with other human qualities including life, energy, and an array of complicated human emotions.

The Praxis Gallery is looking for the submission of photographic works that explore the nude in any of its varied styles including figure studies, environmental nudes and implied nudes–just to name a few of the many iterations of this genre. All capture types, genres, black & white and color, traditional and non-traditional photographic and digital post-production processes are welcome for submission. Curated by Praxis Directors. Exhibition dates: Oct. 21–Nov 4., 2023.

CURATED BY PRAXIS DIRECTORS: Program Director Ross Anderson is an award-winning fine art photographer and filmmaker. Gallery and Installation Director Jonathan Pavlica is the Praxis print & color artist, photo editor, and installationist. Interim Project Director Jenni Undis is a letterpress printer and freelance creative consultant.

ELIGIBILITY: International, all accepted. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Submitted images may not have been exhibited at Praxis Gallery within the past year.

ENTRY FEE: $35.00 for submitting up to five images, $5.00 for each additional image (up to ten total images per open call). Payment is accepted by credit/debit card through our secure online submission site. The entry fee for submissions is non-refundable.
