Event History
Busan International Video Art Festival(BIVAF) has been held since 2004 to revitalize the video art field. Having been held by “Ban-di,” an alternative space in Busan, from 2004 to 2007, BIVAF was launched as an independent body in 2007, constantly keeping the annual festival until 2014. After the break of two years, in 2017, BIVAF has revived again, taking a significant role in enlarging and invigorating video art. We aim to support creative and experimental video artworks and expand the base of the field of video arts. BIVAF is planning to organize exhibitions with selected works through an open call and with works invited from the professional curating procedure.
BIVAF mainly introduces video artworks that deal with contemporary social issues. In particular, we plan to invite works on post-Soviet spaces and cities this year, and we would like to select works that can be presented together through the open call. The submissions are open from 1 to 20 August. For details, please refer to the guidelines below.
