What Makes this event different?
Punto y Raya invites artists to focus on the expressiveness of audiovisual art in its purest state: form, color, motion, and sound. The festival's mission is to recapture the spirit of Cinéma Pur and Absolute Film, as formulated by the European avant-garde in the 1920s, while consolidating this unique art form at the intersection of FINE ARTS and MEDIA. Previous editions: 2007: La Casa Encendida (Madrid, ES) 2009: Arts Santa Mònica (Barcelona, ES) 2011: MNCARS Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid, ES) 2014: HARPA Concert Hall (Reykjavík, IS) 2016: ZKM Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie (Karlsruhe, DE) 2018: CeTA Audiovisual Technology Centre + Four Dome Pavillion, Museum of Modern Art (Wroclaw, PL) 2021: Österreichisches FilmMuseum, Künstlerhaus, Blickle 21 im Belvedere Museum (Vienna, AT) 2023: Cinema Fernando Lopes, Universidade Lusófona, UL, Lisbon City Museum (Lisbon, PT)
The films will be screened during the event in Sofia. Additional programmes featuring the finalist and awarded films may tour multiple venues taking part in our international platform.
