Call for Entries for Portraits

Artists around the world are invited to participate in the 28th annual The International Portrait Competition, that celebrates the best in contemporary portraiture and figurative art. This contest is recognized as the premier portrait art contest globally. It is a prestigious competition and it is open to all artists, regardless of membership status. Submissions in a variety of mediums are encouraged and welcomed. Finalists will showcase their original artwork at The Art of the Portrait conference in Atlanta, GA, from April 9-12, 2026, where final judging and awards will take place. Attendance at the event is required for finalists.

Entry acceptance will close on February 2, 2026. Finalists will be announced March 2, 2026, and on Saturday, April 11, 2026, over $170,000 in cash and awards will be presented, with a $50,000 cash Grand Prize. 

All winners will receive recognition in International Artist magazine, The Art of the Portrait journal and on the Portrait Society's website.

All artists are invited to enter by uploading up to three entries through our online form, entry fee is $55.

Submission deadline for uploading your entries is on or before midnight (EST) on February 2, 2026.
