You will also expand your audience through presence in World of Co social media channels, website and blog.   The participants are also encouraged to participate in the online exhibition at the end of the program.

WOC@Home is an Online Artist Residency hosted by World of Co, an improved version of the program that we have been running during the last six months of 2020.

• Weekly group meetings throughout the residency hosted by the WOC team

• Workshops and seminars by art professionals to enhance your knowledge and skills

• Building an effective online presence as an artist. Individual advices on your social media channels and website moderated by the WOC web and graphic designer

• Internal networking meetings and discussions with WOC artists 

• Online promotion of your art on the social media channels of the organization - Instagram and Facebook

• Participation in the online group exhibition at the end of the program in our virtual gallery

• Re-connect with artists and participate in artist talks

• Presentation about your art and you as an artist on World of Co website and blog

Usually they are around three sessions or around 6 hours of program activities per week. 

Since 2017, World of Co has organized the artist residency programs in Sofia, Bulgaria, introducing the local art and culture to more than 150 international artists. However from May 2020, we introduced to our audience the virtual artist residency program in response to the circumstances that the organization was facing.  We consider the online artist residencies is a relevant format for supporting and connecting artists in times of social isolation and limited travel opportunities. The program is well structured but at the same time is designed to be open, shaped by the ideas and the creative interaction.

What we expect from artists:

• Participatory attitude towards the artists and the team

• Willingness to learn, to experiment and to show incomplete or drafts in sessions

• Attend residency sessions or inform us if you are not able

• Respective attitude to all participants

• Time and space for reflection

• Good internet connection

• Work from own space and provide own materials

ELIGIBILITY

The online program is open to solo/duo/collectiveс of emerging and mid-career visual artists, curators, illustrators, designers, writers, sound artists, multidisciplinary artists and art researchers from all around the world. 

DURATION 

WOC@Home (two months program) will have four sessions starting from January, February, March and April 2021.

WOC@Home (one month program) will take place in January, March, April and May 2021. 

You can apply for one-month or two-months residency programs. In order to get a full experience of the program, we suggest you to participate in the two months program. 

PROGRAM  FEE

The residency fee for a one-month program is  310 EUR, and for two months is 450 EUR.

World of Co will provide you all necessary documents to apply for funding.
