Call for Entry for Photographers

Eligibility: National

The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is inviting photographers/visual artists to submit work that describes the idea of Aging Well for All. We provide a platform for artistic expression in order to foster adialogue and drive innovation in the photographic arts to embrace Aging Well.

Share your favorite photographic shots of older adults doing everyday activities as an expression of healthy living. This competition is open to all styles and photographic creativity. This is a great opportunity to share portraits of an individual older adult, older adults with families, older adults in their communities, documentary shots, lifestyle, street, etc.

The National Council on Aging will grant the following awards:
One First Prize: $1000 
One Second Prize: $500 
Two Awards of Merit: $250 each 
Five Honorable Mentions $100 each
One Award of Public Vote: $500

Artist Eligibility: Any artist in the USA who is at least 18 years old is eligible to apply to this Call for Entry
Total Media: Minimum: 2, Maximum: 10
Entry Fee: Free

All entrants must use the online entry system.
1. Access the entry site and create a free personal account at http://www.SubmitArts.com
2. Upload your files with these specifications: Image resolution: max 1920 pixels (long dimension) at 72 ppi, jpeg format. 
3. Please name the file containing the title (LastName-FirstName_Title). You MUST title each image; “untitled” is not allowed.

Applicant submission deadline: May 2, 2021 (midnight, MDT)
Notification of Acceptance: May 17, 2021.
Opening Online Exhibition date: June 7, 2021

Age + Action Committee and public votes

1. NCOA will provide attribution for selected artists included in the virtual Age+Action exhibition, feature on the online AgeWell gallery. By submitting images and statements, artists are giving NCOA the right to use unlimited the images for the purpose of marketing the exhibition, promoting artists, and supporting the aging well mission on NCOA website, Age+Action website, and all social media sites.
2. Ownership of work remains with the artist. Credits to the artists. No commission on any sale during the exhibitions. 100% profit go to the artists. Artists take full responsibilities for all sales during the exhibitions and on AgeWellgallery.org.
