A flagship project of the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, the International Photography Competition has been running for two decades commemorating the museum's commitment to positioning photographic art as central to everyday life and culture.
What Makes this event different?
The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is dedicated to the exhibition of important photographic art as central to contemporary life and culture. FMoPA collects, preserves, and exhibits contemporary and historic works by nationally and internationally known photographers. The museum enriches the community by operating outreach programs to educate children and adults.

Winning submissions are granted permission for full use by FMoPA including use of the work for promotional purposes, and/or use of the work for marketing.
International Photography Competition 2022
The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is accepting entries for the 2022 International Photography Competition. This is an annual international photography contest where photographers of all skill llevels and ages are invited to submit their photographic work for the chance to win a $1,000 first-place cash prize.
Selected entries will be on exhibit in our museum in downtown Tampa, Florida. Winners get selected by a jury knowledgeable of art and photography. Winning submissions will be notified by June 5, 2022. The top entries will be exhibited at FMoPA from June 10 - July 17. The categories available for submission are: Conceptual, Abstract, Still Life, Documentary/Photojournalism, Nature/Science/ Animals, Places/Landscapes/Drone, People/Portraits.
Images are judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact, artistic merit, and as otherwise determined by the judges. For each category, three winners will be selected. An overall winner will be selected from all submitted photographs. Each winning submission will be printed for exhibition in the FMoPA Community Gallery. Prizes will be awarded as follows: Best in Competition will receive $1,000, be considered for a public art exhibition on a billboard, be part of a group exhibition at FMoPA, and be taken into consideration for a solo exhibition at FMoPA. For winning submissions in each category, First Place winners will receive goods and services valuing $100, be considered for a public art exhibition on a billboard, and be part of a group exhibition at FMoPA. Second Place winners will be considered for a public art exhibition on a billboard and be part of a group exhibition at FMoPA. Third Place winners will be considered for a public art exhibition on a billboard and be part of a group exhibition at FMoPA.
