Open call to artists: The other: nontraditional material
Open call for artists who are using nontraditional materials to create their artwork such as: paper, yarn, cloth, metal, ceramic, found material, etc.
During the last decade of Henri Matisse's life he used very simple materials; paper, scissors, and gouache, to create an amazing body of work that reflected complex emotions, wide-ranging color, and the joy for creating.
In the spirit of Matisse's creative spirit, we are encouraging creators to submit artworks that they created with nontraditional materials. If you work in origami, paper mache, yarn, collage, etc. submit your artwork to be considered for our next exhibition.
Deadline: Midnight, Sunday, Oct. 3rd, 2021
Artist reception: Saturday, Oct. 23rd from 6:00pm-9:00pm
Exhibition dates: Oct. 23rd-Nov. 21st 2021
