CALL FOR AUGE NEXT – Augmented Europe Fellowships! Digital Artists-in-Residency Programme

Email Friend Add to Favorites Report Listing

The AUGE NEXT project, supported by the EU's Creative Europe programme, has launched four Fellowship Programmes for Digital Artists-in-Residency in Italy, Latvia, Germany, and Greece. These programmes aim to support young European artists in digital media art. Each programme lasts for 6 months, including a Prototyping & Production period and an Onsite Residency in the hosting country from September 1, 2023 – February 28, 2024, . The host institutions are MEET Digital Culture Center in Milan, RIXC Centre for New Media Culture in Riga, Public Art Lab in Berlin, and Athens Digital Arts Festival (ADAF) in Athens.

The Fellowship Programmes consist of two main activities. The Onsite Residency takes place in the hosting country, involving engagement with local youngsters and young activists, sharing the creation process, and developing ideas for new digital art productions. The specific dates are determined through individual agreements. The Prototyping & Production process lasts for 6 months and is conducted remotely with virtual meetings and support from the hosting institution.

At the end of each programme, artists create new digital artworks exhibited locally and internationally at MEET Digital Culture Center in Milan. Artists are selected by an international jury and notified by August 1, 2023. The challenges for the Fellowship Programmes were identified during Artathon events, addressing topics such as Digital Utopia, Climate, Immersive Art, Energy, Nature | Data | Narratives, and Expanded Metaverse.
