Event History
Carlisle Arts Learning Center is the premiere non-profit visual arts center in Carlisle, PA. In our 27th year, we have an exhibit schedule of 9 shows per year in each of 2 gallery spaces; including one members-only exhibit, 4 2-man juried exhibits on our first floor, a juried themed exhibit in January, and less traditional collaborative and installation exhibits in our Upper Gallery. Carlisle is becoming a visual arts destination with a number of galleries, restaurants and breweries, live music scene, and antiquing as well as the home of historic Dickinson College. We support other non-profit organizations with outreach programs and run a full schedule of classes and workshops.

The upcoming jury session will identify artists invited to mount their own 1, 2 artist or group show in one of CALC's 2 gallery spaces. The jury committee will consist of gallery staff, a local artist of merit and an academic or gallery professional. Show dates available begin in 2021-2022. 2 or 3 artists wishing to exhibit together should enter individually and denote the artists with whom they wish to be pared. Larger groups may make one entry, with 2 images per person. Exhibit must coincide with the medium and style represented in the jury session but actual works juried need not be in the final curation. All mediums are considered except performance art. Works must fit through a standard doorway and hang from a traditional gallery rod system. 3-D artists are encouraged to submit. Commission is 35%, with 65% paid to the artists. CALC collects and remits state sales tax. There is no cost to the artists. CALC supplies all printed materials, promotion, and hosts a reception which is free and open to the public.
