CREATIVE IMMERSION is FotoFilmic’s new 3-day artistic development program combining the creative strengths of 3 acclaimed artists and leading photography industry experts together into one intensive, game-changing learning experience unique in the field.

Anchored in the awe-inspiring natural settings of beautiful Bowen Island a mere 20-minute ferry crossing from mainland Vancouver, the CREATIVE IMMERSION platform aligns three consecutive one-day workshops whose varying focuses act as powerful building blocks towards developing and honing many of the critical skills necessary to becoming a successful, working photographer today.

For this first Fall 2019 CREATIVE IMMERSION edition we are excited to collaborate with celebrated Magnum Photographer Carolyn Drake, as well as veteran photography editor Lucy Conticello currently the Director of Photography of M, Le Monde Magazine in Paris, and world renowned portrait photographer and 2015 Guggenheim Fellowship recipient Richard Renaldi to push the boundaries of 3 key practice areas: artistic envisioning, photo editing for commission work, and bookmaking.

The retreat will welcome a maximum of 30 participants organized in 10-student groups rotating workshops each day. An evening conversation with the 3 guest artists interacting with all is also part of the program. Applications are free of charge, with 3 Partial (50%) Scholarships awarded to current photography students and recent graduates (May 2018 and after).
