Event History
For 23 years, Embracing Our Differences has grown into a widely recognized international exhibition.
What Makes this event different?
Embracing Our Differences presents international artwork as large-scale public installations in accessible parks, reaching broad audiences while connecting the exhibition to robust educational programs serving thousands of students annually.
International Art Competition – Embracing Our Differences
Embracing Our Differences invites artists worldwide to submit original work for its annual international outdoor juried art exhibition. This program celebrates the power of art to inspire social change, foster inclusion, and spark meaningful dialogue across cultures and communities.
Artists are encouraged to create work that reflects themes of diversity, inclusion, kindness, and respect, contributing to a more connected and understanding world.
About the Exhibition
The exhibition features 50 large-scale artworks, each reproduced on billboard-sized panels measuring 16 feet wide by 12.5 feet high, accompanied by thought-provoking quotations. Selected works are created by local, national, and international artists and writers, each offering a unique interpretation of the theme “Embracing Our Differences.”
The exhibition is presented mid-January through April at multiple outdoor locations along Florida’s Cultural Coast, including Sarasota and St. Petersburg.
Since its founding in 2004, the exhibition has reached over 5.2 million visitors and hundreds of thousands of students through its educational programming, offering a highly visible public platform for artists to engage a broad and diverse audience.
