Event History
InShadow has existed for the past 17 years. Last edition, we had 400 submissions for the International Competitions of Videodance, Documentary and Animation., from 37 different countries. We were present in 14 cultural spaces in Lisbon, with performances and exhibitions, and many different encounters between international artists. Over time, InShadow has grown in size, but our core continues to be the same: to celebrate bold, innovative and hybrid works at the intersection of dance, cinema and visual arts.
What Makes this event different?
We are the only festival dedicated to screendance in Lisbon. We are connected to manyinteresting spaces in the city, and we love to connect people, spaces and art.
InShadow - Lisbon Screendance Festival is an international festival dedicated to screendance and moving image, held annually in Lisbon from mid-November to mid-December. We celebrate bold, innovative and hybrid works at the intersection of dance, cinema and visual arts. The festival program includes International Competitions in Videodance, Documentary and Animation, as well as performances, exhibitions, installations, workshops and masterclasses.
