Call for Entry for the New England Landscape

The Lyme Art Association isvery happy to announce a call for entry for its annual exhibition, New England Landscape. This beloved exhibition celebrates the enduring beauty and rich diversity of the East Coast’s land-based scenery, and invites artists to share their interpretations of the natural world around them.

From rolling hills and rugged coastlines to farmlands, forests, and pastoral views, New England’s landscapes offer artists an endless source of inspiration. This show encourages artists to reflect on their connection to the land and to present work that captures the spirit and atmosphere of these distinctive environments. Submissions should emphasize primarily terrestrial compositions; aquatic or marine scenes should be limited or secondary in focus.

Artists working in all media are welcome to submit, and both traditional and contemporary approaches are encouraged. The exhibition will be juried by accomplished painter Stapleton Kearns, known for his deep knowledge of landscape painting and dedication to plein air traditions.

Awards include:

  • 1st Place: $1,000

  • Alden Bryan Award for Traditional Landscape in Oil: $1,000

  • 2nd Place: $500

  • 3rd Place: $250

  • Three Awards of Merit

This is a wonderful opportunity to be featured in one of LAA’s most popular exhibitions and to celebrate the natural world through art. We welcome artists who wish to honor the beauty, complexity, and evolving identity of New England’s landscape.
