
The aim of the Summer Program is to give current students and recent graduates the necessary tools and support to develop their practice and explore it becoming a small business. Closing the gap between graduation and building a practice needs to be an accessible endeavor and we feel that we are aiding in filling this void.Through the provision of infrastructure, a positive work environment, and cross-disciplinary interaction,Art Aggregate seeks to eliminate the boundaries associated with establishing and running an independent studio.
Applicants must identify as one of the following:
· Post-secondary school bound (starting fall 2020)
· Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution
· Recent graduate (within the last year)
Applicants should be working in one of the following disciplines:
· Fine art (Painting, Sculpture, Installation Art, Illustration)
· Design (Industrial, Environmental, Graphic)· Material Art & Design
· Theatre (Props, Scenic, Costuming)
· Fine Craft (Furniture, Cabinetry)
· Photography & Video Production
· Other Production Focused mediums
All applicants should demonstrate:
· A thorough understanding of their preferred medium
· Ability to create both safely and independently (including without a fulltime Studio Technician)
· A willingness to work respectfully in the space and co-operatively with other participants
· The potential for development of their technical skill and artistic practice
