Event History
Founded in 2001, the UK Coloured Pencil Society (UKCPS) aims to promote coloured pencils as a fine art medium, to support artists who use them, and to champion the art of drawing. To celebrate its 20th Anniversary, the UKCPS is inviting artists from around the world to exhibit with its members and showcase the very best in coloured pencil art.
THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY GALA EXHIBITION
Each year, the UKCPS holds its Open Exhibition, giving artists the opportunity to show their work to an expert panel of selectors, exhibit with the Society, and win generous prizes. An independent jury selects the successful entries to the exhibition and a guest judge chooses the award winners on the opening day. The UKCPS 20thAnniversary Gala Exhibition will be held at the Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf, in central London.
HOW TO ENTER
All artists aged 18 and over are invited to enter, whether they’re new to the medium or more experienced. Work in all styles and subjects is welcome: including botanical and animal art, portraiture, still-life, and landscape, or more abstract compositions. The UKCPS 20th Anniversary Gala Exhibition will display all artistic styles, from hyper-realistic drawings to experimental contemporary pieces. The one requirement is that the work must be at least 50% dry coloured pencil… the rest is up to each artist!
