DISTRICT Arts, is a contemporary art gallery located in the historic district of downtown Frederick, MD. We are pleased to to announce that submissions are now open for “WIND” a juried exhibition that features works that incorporate an interpretation of wind in our lives, in history, in mythology or in a multitude of other ways.
There are solar winds, sailing ships and hot air balloons. There is “Gone with the Wind”, Windmills of your Mind”, and “Candle in the Wind.”
In 1805, Sir Francis Beaufort of the U.K. Royal Navy created the Beaufort Scale that classified the force of the wind at 13 different levels from Calm to Hurricane. Somewhere in that scale is a wind force that imbues your creation.
“WIND” will be independently juried with the works of 25 artists selected for the exhibition.
The exhibition runs from October 13 to November 14, 2021.
All artists residing in the United States are invited to enter the juried exhibition with original 2-D work or 3-D work created within the last two years. No reproductions. (Photogra[hy and Digital Art must be limited in edition and signed and numbered.)
